West End Wine Bar is an escape from the ordinary. We're a wine bar serving cocktails, a pre-dinner spot for tapas, a music venue with great drinks, an event space for the masses, and so much more.
Our first location opened in 1997 in Chapel Hill, creating a new arena for wine drinkers in the Triangle area. Our extensive wine list by the glass and bottle drew immediate critical acclaim for its breadth in style. West End Wine Bar features a variety of interesting wines from all over the globe at all price points, appealing to beginning and expert wine drinkers. We get equal props for our beer list, with several microbrews on tap and great bottled beer. West End Wine Bar became a private club in early 2010, enabling us to begin cocktail service throughout the bar. Our Tapas menu is perfect for snacking, a light meal, or a late night bite.
West End Wine Bar Chapel Hill offers something for everyone. Our rooftop patio is the perfect place to spend the evening, the main floor wine bar features couches and intimate seating but can hold a larger party with ease, and The Cellar is the spot for late night. All of this on West Franklin Street, convenient to dining, UNC, and dowtown Chapel Hill nightlife. We opened a second location in Downtown Durham in 2009.
West End Wine Bar is available for private parties and often hosts music, art shows, and other special events. Sign up for our newsletter, join us on Facebook or check the site often for news and other events at the Wine Bar. West End Wine Bar and The Cellar are both private clubs. Membership is $1 and you can join at the door, or fill out a Membership Application now and pay when you arrive.

Community
West End Wine Bar is committed to supporting our community. We have chosen to allocate much of our marketing and advertising budget to local charities and people that need our support. Whether we are providing wine for benefit events or donating gift certificates for a school fundraiser, we believe that we receive tremendous return on this support back from the community. We are proud to have supported the Ronald McDonald House, Lineberger Cancer Center at UNC, the Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation, SEEDS in Durham or many other local groups. We are committed to the community that sustains us and the world that houses us all.
