West End Wine Bar is an escape from the ordinary. Our first location opened in 1997 in Chapel Hill, creating a new arena for wine drinkers in the Triangle area. Our Durham opening in the spring of 2009 has continued the tradition and expanded on the West End Wine Bars' desire to bring wine to the masses and fun to an evening out.
Whether you are an individual who loves wine, a person that wants to learn more, a group that’s looking for a getaway or a couple wanting an intimate evening, the West End Wine Bars of Durham and Chapel Hill have it all. In the late afternoon gather your friends on the rooftop patio in Chapel Hill for a wine tasting or enjoy one of our carefully selected micro brews. Both locations feature an extensive wine list that spans the globe. Our Tapas menu is perfect for snacking, a light meal, or a late night bite. The Cellar is the place to be for cocktails, Micro-brews, and cool gaming.West End Wine Bar is available for private parties and often hosts music, art shows, and other special events.
West End Wine Bar and The Cellar are now private clubs, meaning you can enjoy wine, beer and liquor throughout both our Durham and Chapel Hill locations. Membership is $1 and you can join at the door, or fill out a Membership Application now and pay when you arrive.

Community
West End Wine Bar is committed to supporting our community. We have chosen to allocate much of our marketing and advertising budget to local charities and people that need our support. Whether we are providing wine for benefit events or donating gift certificates for a school fundraiser, we believe that we receive tremendous return on this support back from the community. Be it the Ronald McDonald House, Lineberger Cancer Center at UNC, the Chapel Hill Public Library Foundation, SEEDS in Durham or many other local groups, we are committed to the community that sustains us and the world that houses us all.
